Ambulatory blood pressure monitor

What is it?

An ambulatory blood pressure monitor is a portable blood pressure recording device. It is used to accurately diagnose hypertension and measure the effectiveness of blood pressure medication.

What do I need to do?

No special preparation is required. 

The test is not covered by  OHIP.  You will be required to pay $75 cash for the device.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment to check in.

How long will it take?

Approximately 15 minutes.

What can I expect on the day of my test?

Shortly after you check-in, one of our Technologists bring you into the room. They will explain the test in detail to you and hook up the monitor. The cuff will inflate periodically throughout the 24-hour period. At rhe end of the test period, you will return the monitor for analysis and review.
